Sign this petition to support MotoGP coming to New Zealand.

To: The New Zealand Government.

The organisers of the FIM World Motorcycle Grand Prix Championship want to bring the MotoGP spectacle (along with the 125cc and 250cc classes) to Taupo Motorsport Park in New Zealand.

MotoGP is the "Formula 1" of motorcycle racing and widely considered to be the pinnacle of the sport. Each round of the championship attracts a TV audience of millions as well as large numbers of track spectators. Proposed is a 5 to 7 year contract to host a New Zealand round of the championship in each of those years.

To do this, some Government financial assistance is needed to help with the huge costs of putting on such an event. This petition is to help lobby the Government for the purposes of ensuring that this event will go ahead.

We the undersigned would like to express our support and interest in bringing the MotoGP to the Taupo Race Track.

We believe an event of this magnitude would benefit New Zealand, with the exposure that it would produce. In investing in this event, you would be promoting New Zealand to a wide demographic of motorcycle racing supporters, as MotoGP has a huge following world wide.
